Roofers Cork:
the jobs we take on.
Eight kinds of roof work for Cork houses, shops and units, from a single slipped slate up to a new roof.
Match the job to the symptom.
People rarely ring a roofer to ask for a re-felt. They ring because there is a brown ring on the bedroom ceiling, or because last night's wind took something off. This page is organised the same way round, so you can find the work by what you are seeing.
A stain that appears after heavy rain usually points to roof repairs. A slope that sags, goes mossy or keeps needing patches points to a new roof or a re-felt and re-batten. Water coming in at this moment, or damage from a storm, belongs on the emergency page. If you cannot tell, book a roof inspection and let the photographs settle it.
Roofers Cork is the Cork name of Recommended Roofing. Every price, guarantee and insurance detail on these pages is the one Recommended Roofing works to.
A slope stripped back to membrane and battens before new slates go onEight jobs, one way of pricing them.
Roof Repairs
A stain on the ceiling or a tile on the lawn: the point where water gets in is found and dealt with.
Roof Replacement
The old covering comes off and a new slate or tile roof goes on, with the Lifetime Leak Guarantee.
Emergency Roof Repair
Storm damage or a live leak: made safe at once, repaired properly when conditions allow.
Lead Flashing & Chimneys
Lead renewed around stacks, walls and valleys, with the stack itself made sound.
Roof Inspections
A written, photographed report on the whole roof, taken from the slope and the attic.
What the weather does up there.
Rain comes off the Atlantic and usually comes with wind behind it, so water is pushed sideways under laps and up beneath flashings. That is why so many Cork leaks show up at a chimney, a wall junction or a valley rather than in the middle of a slope.
Near the harbour and the coast the air carries salt, which wears at nails, clips and the metal parts of a roof. On the older hillside streets the work is often decided by access rather than by the roof: how scaffold can be set and where materials can be landed.
Roughly what the common jobs come to.
| The job | Guide figure, plus VAT | Time on site |
|---|---|---|
| Fixing a leak | €400–€2,500 | A day to three days |
| Chimney stack work | €800–€3,500 | One to three days |
| Rebuilding a valley | €1,200–€4,500 | Two to four days |
| Flat roof, laid in EPDM or GRP | €90–€140 per m² | Two to five days |
| Whole concrete tile roof | €8,000–€18,000 | Four to ten days |
| Whole natural slate roof | €12,000–€28,000+ | Five to fourteen days |
These ranges describe 2026 and are not a quote. VAT is on top of every one. What the roof is made of, how steep it is, how we can reach it and what the timbers are like all push a real price up or down. The figure you pay is the one fixed in writing after the survey.
Before you choose.
Which job do I pick if I am not sure what is wrong?
Start with a roof inspection. Someone goes up, photographs the slope and the attic, and writes down what they find. Whether it turns out to be a repair, a re-felt or a new roof, the report says so. Ringing 021 212 9985 and describing the stain or the drip works just as well.
Do you only do full roofs?
No. Plenty of calls are small: a slipped slate, a cracked ridge, a lifting flashing. Those get a fixed price in the same way as a whole roof does.
Can the work be done in winter?
Most of it can, because Cork weather is mostly wet rather than frozen. Wind is the real limit. Nobody should be on a slope in a gale, and you will be told when a day has to move.
Which guarantee comes with which job?
Installation work and repairs are covered by a written ten-year workmanship guarantee. Replace the whole roof and the Lifetime Leak Guarantee applies as well. Your quote says which one you are getting before you agree to anything.
Do you do commercial roofs?
Yes. Flat and low-pitched roofs on shops, offices and workshops are repaired or renewed, and priced after a survey like every other job.

Not sure which one?
Ask.
Say what you can see: a stain, a drip, a missing tile. We arrange the survey and work out which job it is. Or talk it through:
