Areas we cover

Roofers in Cork,
town by town.

From the city streets to the harbour towns and the market towns inland: 30 places across Cork city and county, each with its own page.

02 / Why the place matters

A roof in Cork is a roof in weather.

Rain and wind come in off the Atlantic and cross the county before they reach much of the rest of the country. Roofs near the harbour and the coast take salt air on top of that, which is hard on fixings and flashings. Inland, the market towns are a little more sheltered, but much of their housing is older.

The housing is mixed. There are narrow terraces from the early 1900s on steep streets, where scaffold has to be planned with care. There are semi-detached houses from the middle of the last century, and estates from the 1990s onwards whose concrete tiles have been through a good many winters. Each town page says what that usually means for the roofs there.
