Roofers Cork:
repairs, new roofs and storm call-outs.
Roof work for Cork homes and businesses. A free survey first, a set price in writing, and a guarantee behind what is done.

Built for the weather Cork actually gets.
Cork's weather comes in off the Atlantic, wet and often windy, and a roof takes it from every angle. Near the harbour there is salt in the air as well. You see the result as moss on the north slopes, ridge tiles that work loose, and lead that lifts where it meets a chimney.
The houses add their own character. The older terraces on the hills have slate roofs, steep streets and little room to manoeuvre. The estates built since the 1990s are roofed in concrete tile that has been through decades of rain. Roofers Cork repair and replace both, and price each on what is really up there.
Roofers Cork is a Recommended Roofing company, and Recommended Roofing has been roofing since 2019. We are a fully insured and VAT registered company and a member of the National Guild of Master Craftsmen.
What we can put right.
From a slipped slate to a whole new roof, for homes and commercial buildings.
Roof Repairs
A stain on the ceiling or a tile on the lawn: the point where water gets in is found and dealt with.
Roof Replacement
The old covering comes off and a new slate or tile roof goes on, with the Lifetime Leak Guarantee.
Emergency Roof Repair
Storm damage or a live leak: made safe at once, repaired properly when conditions allow.
Lead Flashing & Chimneys
Lead renewed around stacks, walls and valleys, with the stack itself made sound.
Roof Inspections
A written, photographed report on the whole roof, taken from the slope and the attic.
From first call to hand-back.
Survey
Someone climbs up and looks, then checks the attic from underneath, photographing what is there. It costs nothing.
Written price
A set figure on paper: the findings, the planned work, and anything the price does not cover.
The work
Safe access goes up, the old covering comes off if it has to, and the site stays clear as the roof goes back together.
Hand-back
You are shown round the finished work, the waste goes with us, and the written guarantee is given to you.
Six reasons, all checkable.
Looked at before it is priced
A roof nobody has seen does not get a number. The price follows the survey, and it is the price you pay.
Repair when a repair will do
If a slate and a strip of lead will cure it, that is what the report says, though a new roof would be the bigger job.
The hidden layers are checked
Battens, membrane and rafters fail quietly under a roof that looks fine from the road, so the attic is looked at as well as the slope.
Guarantees on paper
Ten years in writing on installation work and repairs, and the Lifetime Leak Guarantee once a whole roof has been replaced.
Insured, and in the Guild
Cover of €6.5 million for the public and €13 million for employees, plus a place in the National Guild of Master Craftsmen, which is a trade body and not a qualification.
Safe at height
Work at height follows S.I. 318/2007, which is why scaffold or a tower goes up before anyone steps onto a slope.
Three roofs, three sets of habits.
Older slate roofs on city terraces tend to fail at the details: lead gone hard around a chimney, a valley gutter that has silted up, nail-sick slates that slip one at a time. Often the slate itself is good and the answer is a repair or a re-felt, not a new roof.
Concrete tile roofs on later estates collect moss, and the ridge and verge cement that holds the edges down cracks with age. Wind finds those edges first.
Flat roofs on extensions and garages are rarely the original roof. They fail at upstands and outlets, and a leak under one often shows up well away from the cause.

Guide figures for 2026.
| The job | Guide figure, plus VAT | Time on site |
|---|---|---|
| Fixing a leak | €400–€2,500 | A day to three days |
| Chimney stack work | €800–€3,500 | One to three days |
| Rebuilding a valley | €1,200–€4,500 | Two to four days |
| Whole concrete tile roof | €8,000–€18,000 | Four to ten days |
| Whole natural slate roof | €12,000–€28,000+ | Five to fourteen days |
| Flat roof, laid in EPDM or GRP | €90–€140 per m² | Two to five days |
These ranges describe 2026 and are not a quote. VAT is on top of every one. What the roof is made of, how steep it is, how we can reach it and what the timbers are like all push a real price up or down. The figure you pay is the one fixed in writing after the survey.
Five things worth checking from the ground.
You do not need to climb anything to spot early trouble. After a windy spell, stand back from the house and look along each slope, using binoculars if you have them.
- Slates or tiles that have slipped, cracked or gone missing
- Ridge tiles that look uneven or have lost their cement
- Moss building up thickly, especially on the shaded side
- Lead around the chimney that is lifting or has gaps
- Daylight in the attic, or a damp smell and dark patches on the timbers
Please stay off the roof.
A wet slate is slippery, and a fall from a roof can do serious harm. If you spot something from the ground, a phone photograph is enough for us to begin with.
Pressure-washing is another habit worth resisting. On concrete tiles it strips the surface, and on any covering it can drive water in beneath the laps, so a roof that looked clean ends up leaking. Moss comes off more gently and stays off longer when it is treated at the right time.
When the wind has had its say.
Gales are part of life in Cork, and now and then one takes tiles, ridge pieces or the cover off a flat roof. When that happens the first job is stopping more water getting in: a tarpaulin fixed properly, loose material secured, a hole closed off. The permanent repair waits for conditions that make it safe to work.
You get a written report with photographs of the damage, which your insurer will usually want. Ring on 021 212 9985 and say it is a storm call. The target for reaching you is 4 hrs.

What a Cork homeowner wrote.
A review of Recommended Roofing's work, word for word.
“For our Sunday's Well home I needed a last-minute replacement of leaking roof at the rear of a three-storey house. Recommended Roofing provided a prompt, fair estimate and — despite the wet weather — had a scaffold tower in place and the job finished in one day. The installers (David and one colleague) were efficient, courteous, and helpful throughout, and they left the site tidy, removing all waste. Very pleased with the quick response, the team, and the quality of the work. Highly recommended.”

Across the city and the county.
Your own town has a page, with what tends to go wrong on its roofs.
Quick answers.
What does Roofers Cork actually do?
Repairs, new slate and tile roofs, flat roofs, re-felting and battening, lead and chimney work, roof inspections, storm call-outs and commercial roofing, across Cork city and county.
How soon can someone look at my roof?
Ring 021 212 9985 or send the form and a survey is booked for a time that suits you. When water is coming in right now, the aim is to reach you inside 4 hrs.
Does the survey cost anything?
No. The survey and the written price are free, and the price is fixed, so the bill at the end is the figure that was on paper.
Are repairs guaranteed, or only new roofs?
Both. A written ten-year workmanship guarantee goes with installation work and repairs, and a whole new roof also gets the Lifetime Leak Guarantee.
Is the work insured?
Yes, for the public up to €6.5 million and for employees up to €13 million. Ask and a certificate is sent.
Do you work outside the city?
Yes. Roofers Cork cover the city and the county, 30 towns in all, listed on the areas page.
Can you quote over the phone?
A phone call can tell you roughly where a job tends to fall. A number you can rely on needs someone to see the roof, so that is how it is done.

Let a roofer
go up and look.
Name the problem and the part of Cork you are in. The survey gets booked and the price gets written down. Rather speak to someone?
